Description
Design firm in Colma is seeking a senior accountant, you will be a key player in managing the company’s financial operations. You will be responsible for overseeing accounting processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires advanced analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
General Ledger Oversight: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Conduct audits and implement improvements to strengthen controls.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Financial Analysis: Conduct complex financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Project Management: Lead and manage special projects and initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the finance team and the organization.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in the art or creative industry is a plus.
Certifications: CPA designation strongly preferred.
