DESCRIPTION OF WORK This Social Worker 2 has the primary responsibility for the coordination and implementation of transitional services at Southeast Youth Development Center (SYDC). You ensure the successful transition of youths back into their community through leading an active process of discharge planning and establishing aftercare via a network of community-based resources.

Other duties include the responsibility for providing specialized professional counseling and care for the rehabilitation and social development of court committed adjudicated delinquent residents in the Youth Development Center/Youth Forestry Camp system. You also supervise the resident group in rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation, and social development programs in accordance with the DHS and BJJS policies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or A master's degree in social work or social welfare. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three (3) months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Other Requirements:
