These responsibilities include some of the following:Work independently with minimal supervision to design, develop, qualify and validate cell-based assays in support of our drug discovery programs.Preparing draft assay methods and development/qualification reports.Provide assay support and advice to RandD groups; participate in assay transfer to manufacturing, and/or contractor laboratories.Train others and help to troubleshoot assay problems as they occur.Maintain awareness of the current literature relevant to methods of biochemical analysis.Why you?Basic Qualifications:We are looking for a professional with these required skills:BS/MS degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, or closely related fieldPrior experience with cell culture, cell-based bioassay, and aseptic technique5+ years of experience in running and analyzing bioassays in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology or academic environment.Experience analyzing data, interpreting results and reporting data in laboratory notebooksPreferred Qualifications:The following skills would be an added benefit for this position:Prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.Experience with laboratory automation.GMP ExperienceTrack record of working on multiple bioassay projects.Ability to design, troubleshoot and execute bioassay experiments independently.Ability to maintain accurate, complete laboratory records.Ability to communicate ideas and concepts.Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others.Strong technical writing skills for documentation.Knowledge of statistical analysis of experimental results.Demonstration of a high level of scientific rigor and integrity.Why GSK?Our values and expectationsare at the heart of everything we do and form an important part of our culture.
