Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Plant Industry Inspection Technician in Collegeville, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will assist Plant Inspectors and Supervisor with plant inspection duties to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations while ensuring that the Bureau's field activities are performed and completed in an effective and efficient manner. Duties include inspection of plant production facilities and other agricultural product establishments, investigating complaints involving plant pest and pesticide worker protection, and reviewing application for licensure.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position will be home headquartered if applicant lives in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia or Schuylkill Counties. If applicant does not live in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia or Schuylkill Counties, reporting location is 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19426. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in the agricultural or biological sciences, which includes 3 credits in chemistry, 3 credits in plant science, and 3 credits in animal science; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 3 credits in chemistry, 3 credits in plant science, and 3 credits in animal science. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's Class C Driver's License.
