What we want
The Program Coordinator II, under general direction, coordinates SPH post award research administrative processes. Collaborates with SRS, SPH-OBA, SPH research faculty and staff; coordinates SPH-related research award programs.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of related experience in program management, coordination or related areas
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Four years of related experience in calculation, computation, numbers, mathematics, estimation, financial management and coordination
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Qualifications):
Research administration experience
Experience in award management, expenditure review and monitoring
Experience working with a wide range of individuals and communities
Familiarity with Aggie Buy, Concur, Maestro, Workday, FAMIS/Canopy, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Canva
Good financial skills
Good organizational skills
Detail-oriented
Responsibilities:
Research Administration & Coordination
Under general direction, coordinates with the Office of Research Director and SPH-assigned SRS Research Administrator(s) on post award administrative processes for the SPH research portfolio.
In collaboration with SRS and the respective PI(s), regularly reviews, reconciles, and projects award finances, and requests corrections (PCTs) to ensure burn rate (expenditures vs time lapsed) is appropriate.
Monitors budgets by overseeing purchasing activities and salary expenditures for SPH research projects.
Collects and implements summer research salary requests with SPH faculty members; works with the VPR office when there are exceptions (per VPR summer salary guidelines).
Ensures SPH PI’s review and accurately reconcile research time and effort reporting by the designated due dates.
In collaboration with the OOR Director and OOR Senior Data Analyst, coordinates the reporting and tracking of the outcomes of research incentive plans and other special programs.
Provides back-up support to the Program Coordinator I for pre-award related processes
Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders.
Prepares and submits monthly OOR Expense Reports.
Assists with training other OOR staff on research administration related processes and tasks.
Research Award Program Coordination
Coordinates all SPH-specific research award programs including Public Health Research Awards, NPHW Symposium Poster Contest Awards, Student Research Excellence Awards and Faculty Research Excellence Awards.
Coordinates with the respective SPH personnel on planning and communication of award events.
Coordinates with the respective SPH personnel for the call for nominees, application submissions, announcement of winners and presentation of the awards.
Plans, implements, evaluates, and enhances existing research award programs, including the design of awards.
Contract Coordination
Under general direction, coordinates with SPH personnel, Office of Business Affairs, FMO, TAMU Procurement, and/or TAMU Contract Administration to submit research-related contracts that will not run through SRS.
Coordinates with SPH personnel and SRS to complete independent contractor status certification requests, set up contractors performing service for research projects in AggieBuy, and submit invoices for service-related payments.
Professional Development
Attends training programs for professional development and continuing education in research administration.
Performs other duties as assigned
