L3Harris CF-18 Non-Destructive Testing Technician (NDT) in Cold Lake, Alberta
About your role as a Aircraft Maintenance Support Level E:
L3Harris plays an important role in In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CF-18 (Hornet) Fighter aircraft Program. Our mandate includes providing engineering and 1st, 2nd and 3rd line Maintenance.
Essential Functions:
Document non-conformities according to established procedures;
Draft and complete inspection reports and Work Orders accurately;
Minimum 6 years' experience on aircraft;
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and discipline as detailed in CFTOs;
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft NDT inspections and report results to Supervisor;
Conduct NDT inspections for non-air purposes as detailed by Supervisor;
Act as a team member, providing assistance to other crew members as required;
Perform regular inspection and maintenance of shop equipment, ensuring serviceability;
Observe and adhere to all safety regulations in the performance of duties, ensuring absolute compliance of radiation safety policies and procedures;
Maintain shop cleanliness, in compliance with safety regulations;
Assist in initiating technical and administrative reports as required;
Forward supply requirements to section supply coordinator in a timely fashion, ensuring stock levels are maintained;
Qualifications:
College diploma in aeronautics or equivalent;
CGSB (Canadian Government Specification Board) certification;
Possess and demonstrate Level II skills in the following NDT inspection testing methods:
Liquid Penetrant
Eddy Current
Magnetic Particle
X-Ray
Ultrasound
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Very good knowledge of CF-18 structure and drawings;
Knowledge of Canadian Forces aircraft maintenance operation;
Be conversant with CFTOs and other technical information pertaining to NDT inspection procedures;
Ability to work independently, with minimal direction or as part of a team;
Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers, technical staff, customers and supervisors (e.g., new or improvement processes, procedures);
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems; and
Proven organizational ability.
Eligibility Criteria :
Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
