Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Basic Function
To be responsible for the daily set up and operation of the press.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operator a press brake for established work.
- Select correct tooling for the job task with set up documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
- Load, install and correctly set up the tools required.
- Ability to prepare and run complex bend set ups and forming operations. Complex programming using all features of the press brake.
- Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
- Thorough understanding of flat pattern lay out.
- Ability to work well with others in a leadership environment.
- Ability to train less experienced operators.
- Work in an efficient and timely manner.
- Keep work area, including machine surface clean at all times.
- Work with Material Handler to make sure material for each job is on schedule and in the proper location.
Other duties as requested.
Skills
- Have solid understanding of press machine
- Must possess the ability to operate cranes, tape measurers and calipers, hand tools and torch
- Ability to communicate quality non-conformances verbally and effectively present information to supervisor, co-workers and management
- Must have knowledge/experience with measurement systems, variable gages, measurement scales, angle measurement instruments, calibration systems, blue prints and engineer drawings
Ability to work in a team environment
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Prior Press Operating experience a must
