Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Mill Operator Trainee - Climax Mine in Climax, Colorado
Climax Molybdenum is the world's leading producer of molybdenum and has a long, successful history of doing business in a safe, highly efficient and socially responsible manner. We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years and today have mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax mine is located between Frisco and Leadville. Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour's drive apart - separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles is underground). The Henderson mine is about 50 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire, and the mill is located between Dillon and Kremmling.
Climax Mine is looking for Semi-skilled employees that will operate industrial concentrator equipment. Employees will work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to learn quickly to operate areas of the concentrator autonomously. Employees will be tasked with making guided decisions to support the primary objective of safe production.
- Maintain and operate concentrator equipment
- Perform detailed inspections of operating equipment and operational areas
- Assist with maintenance activities
- Complete area housekeeping duties
- Learn and understand basic metallurgical milling principles
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: - Three (3) months' work experience - Knowledge of milling, crushing and conveying equipment. Including operating parameters, limits and functionality of equipment
