This Cleveland, Ohio area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and being responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be essential for this role. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.
How you will make an impact
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Microsoft Excel experience
Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
General ledger experience desired
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
High attention to detail
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
