The Sherwin-Williams Company Senior Financial Analyst in Cleveland, Ohio

The Sr. Inventory Accounting Analyst is a key member of the organization and is responsible for calculation and booking of Raw Material and Finished Goods obsolescence for all domestic inventory concepts. This position is also responsible for maintaining the Phase Matrix process, working with multiple levels of management across divisions, which is critical in helping drive working capital improvement. This position also owns the booking of all entries related to Quality Hold along with reconciliation and reporting on that activity. The Senior Analyst will assist in creating, reviewing, and updating inventory accounting policy and procedures that will standardize inventory accounting practices. Finally, this position will assist with all domestic system implementations as it relates to the financial and operational impacts to obsolescence and quality hold. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Manage the Finished Goods obsolescence reserves Prepare monthly calculations and reporting on current obsolescence levels to the Business Unit Book monthly, quarterly, and annual true up entries Monthly reconciliation of the obsolescence reserve accounts Drive the quarterly Phase Matrix process Prepare quarterly reporting for BU review regarding SKUs meeting criteria for phase change Collect feedback from BU and lead quarterly meeting to review responses Work with Reverse Logistics on liquidation or disposal of old age/obsolete inventory Manage the Raw Material obsolescence reserve Prepare monthly calculations and reporting on current obsolescence levels to Sites and Operations Book monthly true up entries Monthly reconciliation of the obsolescence reserve accounts Manage the Quality Hold reserve Book monthly entries to true up the reserve and pass charges to the responsible party Reconcile all QA Hold activity and provide summary reporting to management Provide monthly reporting to Sites detailing expected charges for that month Oversee MCC Label accounting process Track and reconcile charges and credits related to old age billing and verify their legitimacy Code the monthly direct bill file and pass charges to appropriate party Other tasks including the following Fulfilling audit requests and walkthrough of reserve accounting process Toller accounting entries and reconciliation POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 3+ years of accounting or finance experience. Preferred: 1-2 years of manufacturing finance experience Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills Experience with QAD, Advanced Order Management (AOM), OneStream, and Business Objects (BO) Auditing Experience TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Preferred: Knowledge of current Global Supply Chain inventory processes.
