The Department of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Sciences is home to scientists with broad expertise in cardiovascular and related systems as well as cellular metabolism related to diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am-4:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Participate in daily research project activities.

  • Plan, organize, perform and monitor daily project protocols.

  • Collect, prepare and maintain required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes and medical reports.

  • Report and assist with managing protocol deviations, adverse events and other project-related issues.

  • Be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the lab.

  • Order and purchase supplies, gather information on new equipment and recommend purchases.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Four years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment

  • OR an associate's degree and three years of experience

  • OR a bachelor's degree and two years of experience

  • OR a master's degree and one year of experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • Ability to distinguish color

  • Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment

  • Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds

  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $20.77

Maximum hourly: $31.68

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
