The Sherwin-Williams Company R&D Technician II in Cleveland, Ohio

The Global Supply Chain R&D team at our Warrensville Technical Center is looking for a highly motivated individual with high integrity to provide customer service support associated with the applicator CBG product lines. This role independently performs basic tasks as outlined by manager with progress and results checked regularly. Responsibilities include: 1. Technical and Professional Knowledge * Accountable for routine experiments, recording results, and demonstrating basic knowledge of dimensional measurements / specifications and basic equipment/computing tools to capture and record data. Has familiarity with scientific principles, products and/or processes including measurement tools. * Recognizes routine requirements and selects the proper, simple procedures for obtaining desired results to solve problems * Follows manufacturer's specifications 2. Project Management * Leads individual or group projects and begins to draw conclusions * Creates update reports * Designs, executes, and plans projects * Completes proper forms * Organizes time efficiently 3. Communication * Seeks assistance on setting priorities for scheduling * May require coaching from supervisor or mentor 4. Safety and Quality * Ensures Safety, Housekeeping, and ISO practices are followed. * Maintains certification on and follows quality standards, such as ITMs and ICMs * Actively seeks to reduce risk through corrective action of unsafe practices. * Correctly documents lab results and technical information and maintains an up-to-date electronic lab notebook and/or project folder per ISO standards. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: * High School Diploma or equivalent KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: * Basic math skills * Knowledge of basic computer skills * Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities * Use of calipers and other tools for validating dimensions * Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills * 1 year of experience in a lab setting Preferred: * Ability to interact effectively with various levels of technical experience * Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis * Basic knowledge of CAD and drawing specifications * Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access * Excellent organization and planning skills TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: * Computer proficiency; Can analyze and translate scientific data/results at a basic level Preferred: * Understands basics of CAD and product specifications Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in Q4 2024. Until then, the role will be based at 4440 Warrensville Center Rd, Warrensville Heights, OH 44128.
