Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an Operations Technician Plant Operator at its Cleveland, OH facility. Our Cleveland site includes 3 Air Separation Units, a Liquefier, an Argon Purification Plant, and multiple pipeline delivery systems. The plant operator will be responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of the facility's operating equipment and production processes in compliance with all EH&S standards. While achieving a zero (0) lost time injury record, perform work duties in accordance with company quality systems, safety policies and site-specific procedures. You will also be responsible for monitoring daily production processes to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met. Affordable Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (day 1 of employment) 401k with 100% vested company core and match Paid Vacation, holidays + sick time Paid Parental leave (Up to 4 weeks for both parents) Backup Child and Adult Care benefit Adoption assistance Flexible spending accounts (medical, dependent daycare) Life Insurance (AD&D- Paid for by Air Products), Supplemental AD&D Legal Plan & Identity theft coverage EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Many more supplemental benefits available Required Skills / Abilities: Plant Operator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities: Monitoring and adjusting plant process conditions by adjusting valves, pumps, machinery, and electrical equipment Maintaining an electronic logbook of daily operational activities Troubleshooting plant process conditions using various in-plant indications of plant performance and data displayed on a modern DCS/HMI computer system Operating analytical equipment used for monitoring production processes and distribution systems for multiple industrial gas products Performing preventative maintenance tasks Maintaining online training program requirements Issuing safety work permits and performing lock-out / tag-out procedures as necessary for maintenance activities Oversee trailer loading operations Inspect all work areas on a routine basis to identify any mechanical problems, safety hazards, or unusual operating conditions Ensure that all plant safety procedures are followed, and attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings Perform troubleshooting on equipment and make minor adjustments, or submit work requests to maintenance as required Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures as required Minimum Hiring Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous work history and/or military experience Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems Desire and ability to work in a team environment This is a safety sensitive position.
