The Sherwin-Williams Company Lead Program Manager in Cleveland, Ohio

The Lead Program Manager role partners with engineering teams, technical designers, and procurement professionals to lead the design and development of new or changing engineering projects and programs using Waterfall methodology. As a lead-level professional with extensive knowledge and significant experience with engineering design principles, practices, and methodologies, the incumbent works closely with key stakeholders across the organization, contractors, and project management teams. The incumbent in this role is responsible for planning and supervising technical, operational, and financial activities related to engineering projects and programs. They ensure compliance with contractual commitments and assess the technical and project design teams, as well as evaluate and implement new design strategies and technologies. This role requires excellent technical expertise, project management skills, and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the successful completion of engineering projects and programs and ensuring they have a positive impact on the organization. Implement project/program milestones, timelines, project plans, team structure, and budget Provide guidance and leadership to the team on project/program objectives, work plans, budgets, schedules, and performance criteria with a focus on achieving strategic goals Ensure engineering, technical, and procurement activities align with project/program goals and objectives Develop and implement strategies to establish clear communication channels and processes between external stakeholders and the project team Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals, and proactively identify and implement solutions to resolve roadblocks Own project/program budgets, costs, and financial commitments at a strategic level and make recommendations for optimization Establish a robust framework to ensure compliance related to contract agreements, technical specifications, and industry standards Ensure the quality of project/program reports shared with stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations for improvement Determine what constitutes as risks, issues, and roadblocks, and escalate when necessary to high-level stakeholders, as well as provide strategic recommendations Oversee the practices, tools, and methodologies deployed for the project/program Establish a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and strategic thinking in the design and execution of projects/programs, while encouraging continuous feedback from team Education Required Bachelor's degree in IT, or Project Management, or Project Management, or in lieu of a degree, at least 9 years of experience in software development or software release management Preferred Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Knowledge and Experience Required 6-8 years of experience in IT project and program management roles Expertise in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and experience working in complex, cross-functional environment Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and industry best practices Proven experience in procurement processes and contract management Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent financial and budget management capabilities Exceptional interpersonal and communicatio
