The Sherwin-Williams Company IT Director, Tools (Jira/Planview) in Cleveland, Ohio

The IT Director of Tools is responsible for the overall administration, configuration, Playbook, training, and maintenance of the Planview PPM Tool, Atlassian tool set/Jira. This role will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure the tools are aligned with business processes and objectives, providing support, training, and guidance to users as needed. Administer, configure, and maintain Planview to meet business requirements and standards. Must have experience with Planview's Portfolios, Finance, and AgilePlace modules. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement best practices for project and portfolio management in our toolset. Provide user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Planview. Develop and deliver training programs and materials for new and existing users. Create and maintain documentation related to Planview configuration, processes, and workflows. Monitor tool usage and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement. Stay current with Planview updates and industry trends, recommending enhancements or the adoption of new features as available. Lead, configure, and customize the Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and related plugins, to align with organizational requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and scope project requirements. Design and implement custom workflows, fields, screens, and automation to optimize processes and support business needs. Build a playbook to demonstrate the capabilities of Atlassian/Jira to the business users. Build and maintain documentation, guidelines, and standard methodologies for the Atlassian tools and related processes. Maintain Atlassian environment to best practice standards around security groups, permissions, schema configurations, backups, and data hygiene. Create dashboards based on business requirements, troubleshoot Atlassian related issues, and generate reports to provide tool usage and performance insights. Proven understanding of IT service management concepts and standard processes. Ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of Jira/Planview admins. Experience with Atlassian tool integration and plugin development is a plus. Time management skills to balance ongoing administrative tasks with project-based work. Experience working in scrum or agile teams. Formal Education: Required: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience. Preferred: SAFe Program Consultants (SPC) (or needs to be within first 90 days) Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certified Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Certified SAFe Agile Product Management Certified Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) Knowledge and Experience: Required: 12+ years IT or business experience 8+ years of experience managing direct reports 8+ years of experience in program management 8+ years of experience in portfolio management Strong understanding of product development methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Lean). Must have a solid background utilizing an agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban) in software development, system engineering and/or architecture. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, coaching and mentorship experience. Experience working with large, small, remote and collocated agile delivery and/or product teams.
