MetroHealth Audiologist-Audiology in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 0800-1630

Job Summary:

Provides diagnostic, habilitative, and rehabilitative services and research related to hearing loss and balance disorders. Dispenses hearing aids and performs electrophysiologic testing (ABR, VNG, VEMP). Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to patient safety by:

a. Providing a safe environment for patients.

b. Reporting safety concerns, errors and near misses.

c. Participating in system improvement initiatives to prevent errors.

d. Providing evidence-based care as applicable to the role.

1. Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for all patient populations, including follow-up for newborn hearing assessments.

2. Performs electrophysiologic evaluations in the clinic and in the operating room under conscious sedation (ABR, ASSR, and DPOAEs).

3. Provides full-service amplification dispensing and verification for all patient populations.

4. May participate in multidisciplinary vestibular clinic, performing a variety of testing (VNG, C-VEMP, O-VEMP, VHIT).

5. May participate in cochlear implant evaluations and programming for the adult population.

6. May participate in multidisciplinary craniofacial disorders clinic.

7. Supervises and participates in the newborn hearing screening program in the well-baby and NICU nurseries.

8. May participate in the fitting and assessment of bone anchored hearing devices.

9. Supervises graduate level student clinicians per American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) guidelines

10. Ensures compliance with individual and team financial and productivity targets.

11. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

Doctorate of Audiology (AuD).

Current Audiologist license in the State of Ohio.

Certified by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association with Clinical Competence Audiology (CCC-A) certificate or obtains within 1 year of hire.

Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated solid work ethic and ability to work in a team-centered environment.

Reliable transportation to travel between Main Campus and satellites.

May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.

May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
