Summary You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant at Glenn Research Center (GRC) and will carry out and coordinate a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to efficient day-to-day operations of Directorate level offices by applying office skills and broad knowledge of administrative procedures. Responsibilities Provides executive level administrative and logistical support to Directorate level offices. Manages executive calendars, coordinates and schedules meetings and briefings, secures alternate representative by another official when appropriate, and secures meeting location. Attends meetings as appropriate. Creates executive correspondence; reviews all documents for correct format, grammar and spelling. Handles day to day administrative responsibilities for the Directorate management and staff, such as directing phone calls, receive and greet visitors, sorting and distributing incoming mail, and maintaining electronic and hardcopy files and records. Assists with reviewing and drafting correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda related to management and administrative concerns in compliance with policies and procedures. Evaluates and improves Directorate operations for organization with varying functions performed in subordinate offices. Oversees subordinate secretarial and clerical staff, ensuring administrative and clerical services required are provided. Creates and/or maintains the organizational distribution lists for the Directorate. Fosters a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-08, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level: Supporting administrative and office operations in an executive level business setting; Executing administrative tasks, including correspondence, travel, meetings, phone/visitor handling, report preparation, and calendar management; Utilizing computer software to generate office products (e.g., spreadsheets, reports, documents, letters, or forms).
