MetroHealth Aprn Provider - Ambulatory-Hematology/Oncology in CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio

The Hematology / Oncology Department at MetroHealth is seeking a community-based Advanced Practice Provider ( APP) at our Cleveland Heights location. The APP will work alongside our oncologists to provide high quality care for both malignant conditions and benign hematology. Candidates will be asked to work in a collaborative practice with oncologists performing a mix of shared and independent visits as well as active involvement in our Interdisciplinary Teams. Visit types can include ongoing surveillance, survivorship, sick/ urgent visits and supportive care visits in an effort to keep our patients from unnecessary Emergency Department care. The candidate will have infusion center responsibilities in our community settings as well as our Main Campus. Infusion Center responsibilities include on- site coverage for the management of treatment reactions and patient emergencies. We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of experience as a clinical provider. Oncology experience is preferred.

Summary:

Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Required: MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.

Preferred: Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
