Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex Avionic systems within Honeywell Aerospace. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for systems at every aspect of the systems lifecycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering Sensing, Guidance and Navigation business to drive growth and reach critical business milestones.

The position will be based at our Clearwater, Florida facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team to perform technical execution, technical risk management, requirements management for customer missionizations and new products development for Honeywell Embedded GPS/INS product line.

  • Serve as the interface to the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Lead, and other Integrated Program Team (IPT) leads to coordinate sub-team technical and programmatic status and issues.

  • Perform customer flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development including but not limited to test strategy and architecture development, engineering test design and development.

  • Develop system documents including but not limited to system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, Printed Board Assembly (PBA) Design Specification, Software Test Plan and Procedures (DO-178 compliant) for Software/System Requirement Verification, Hardware Verification Test Plan and Procedures (DO-254 compliant) for Airborne Complex Electronic Hardware Requirement Verification, and Certification documents.

  • Design and develop System Verification test cases to meet DO-178 certification requirements and perform testing.

  • Design and develop test cases for Complex Electronic Hardware Requirements Verification to meet DO-254 certification requirements and perform testing.

  • Lead system design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) with internal and external customers.

  • Provide technical support for fielded systems (on request) as assigned.

  • Manage and oversee the financial aspects of systems engineering projects.

  • Update and maintain schedule and monitor technical development from the perspective of Systems Engineering.

  • Implement EVM techniques to assess project performance and progress relative to the budget.

  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Provide technical support and expertise to Customer Business Managers and Technical Sales Director during pursuit of new business to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements.

  • Support proposal effort as a System Engineer Lead/SME, including development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs).

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to engineering team members in all phases of product development including requirements definition, system architecture, software architecture, hardware architecture, documentation, integration, verification and validation.

    Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

    YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • 8 years of experience in all aspects of the systems engineering process, from requirements analysis through verification and validation testing.

    WE VALUE

  • Experience in the field of Sensors, Guidance and Navigation.

  • Advanced background in DO-178 and DO-254 certification standards.

  • Understand all Stages of Involvement Hardware Accomplishment Summary (HAS), Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC), and Stages of Involvement (SOI) of DO-254 Processes and Documents.

  • Understand all Stages of Involvement (SOI) of DO-178 Processes and Documents.

  • Experience in using Requirements and Configuration Management tools such as: IBM Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Collaborator.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Master of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Engineering degree.

  • Experience with data analytics with strong math skills.

  • Experience in Defense and/or Aerospace.

  • Embedded GPS/INS expertise.

  • Coding experience using Python, C, C++, or similar program language.

  • Individuals who quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.

  • Ability to adapt to project changes.
