Robert Half Sr. Accountant - Tax Analyst in Clearwater, Florida

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Clearwater, Florida. This role is primarily focused on tax, with some general accounting duties. The location is fully onsite, and the successful candidate will be part of a team that handles various accounting tasks, including tax and general ledger duties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks

• Handle sales tax and property tax matters, predominantly in the US

• Utilize Avalara for automated tax processes

• Process and reconcile account transactions

• Manage general ledger tasks including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Handle bank reconciliations and month-end close procedures

• Use MS Dynamics 365 Business Central for accounting tasks

• Ensure compliance with import/export tax regulations for small international transactions

• Maintain accurate customer credit records

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

Requirements • Proven experience in a senior accounting or tax analyst role within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance sector.

• Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Proficiency in utilizing General Ledger for financial operations.

• Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries.

• Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel in accounting tasks.

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures.

• Experience with Avalara tax compliance software.

• Proficiency in Sales Tax calculations and declarations.

• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central for financial management.

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Analyst (CTA) credentials preferred.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on new tax laws and regulations.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
