The Quality Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and control of systems & practices which monitor, assess, and approve the quality of materials and products at all stages of production. This role is also responsible for implementing, maintaining, and facilitating continuous quality improvement objectives, primarily cGMP, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 for the manufacturing location, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Clearwater.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead to resolution of internal and external quality issues such as inquiries, quality events, SCARs, complaints, nonconformances, CAPAs, audits utilizing sound problem solving methodologies

  • Satisfy customer requests and complete the associated documentation

  • Management of Equipment Calibration for measuring, inspection and process equipment

  • Implementation/oversight of quality assurance laboratory and review/approval of QA testing and QA product release

  • Support any facility expansions, software validations, equipment qualifications and / or process validations required to support existing / new processes.

  • Oversight of cleanroom practices including qualification, monitoring and behavior

  • Conducts training, coordinates functions, resolves issues/problems, and manages projects requiring direction of others throughout the facility as needed

  • Able to operate independently and as part of a team to meet customer requirements

  • Validation activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science Related Field (Required)

  • 3-5 Years in Manufacturing Environment, ISO or GMP Environment (Preferred)

  • Background in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820 (Preferred)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word (Required)

  • Continuous Improvement (WCM, Kaizen) green belt training or higher (Preferred)

  • Excellent analytical / problem solving, communication, project management, interpersonal and organizational skills (Required)

  • Valid Driver's License required

Additional Description

• 3-5 years experience with CAPA’s (Preferred)

• 3-5 years experience managing ECO’s or equivalent processes (Preferred)

• 3-5 years experience managing Customer Audits (Preferred)
