Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Clearwater, Florida
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Clearwater, Florida. Serving in the public sector, you will be engaged in a myriad of tasks including the handling of customer invoices, overseeing accounts payable functions, and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately key-in, scan and validate data in the ORACLE Accounts Payable system application to maintain up-to-date records.
• Ensure pre-audit of invoices is conducted, including detailed review, verification, and validation against purchase orders, contractual terms, and funding agency requirements.
• Analyze available funding on purchase orders and departmental budgets to ensure proper allocation.
• Confirm compliance with legal and public purpose requirements in the use of public funds.
• Communicate effectively with County contacts and vendors about cost allocations, documentation status, invoices, and payments.
• Handle a high volume of complex transactions independently, organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, for various tasks.
• Support in special projects, staff training, system testing, and review as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processing is essential.
• Experience with Oracle software is required.
• Knowledge of Fund Accounting is necessary.
• Understanding of Government Grants is expected.
• Must have excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
