Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opens for Manufacturing Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidates will support process design and respond to production issues related to aircraft manufacturing (composite, metallic, and assembly). This position is located at our Clearfield, Utah facility and opportunities are available across multiple programs. Want to work on the cutting edge of aerospace? Come join us!

Positions are needed on multiple shifts including day shift and day production, evening production, and weekend production shifts. Evening and weekend shifts include shift differential pay.

Available Shifts (start and end times are approximate and may vary slightly depending upon the program) :

  • Day Shift – 9/80 work schedule

  • A Shift Production: 6 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Thursday (4-10’s)

  • B Shift Production: 4:30 PM – 3 AM, Monday – Thursday (4-10’s)

  • C Shift Production: 6 AM – 6:30 PM, Friday – Sunday (3-12’s)

  • D Shift Production: 6 PM – 6:30 AM, Friday – Sunday (3-12’s)

Responsibilities :

  • Develops manufacturing process structure

  • Identifies process improvements, captures feedback from Operations, and incorporates into the manufacturing process

  • Reviews design changes and specification changes and ensures they are captured in the manufacturing process

  • Creates and maintains the planning work instructions

  • Promptly responds to technical issues that arise on the production floor utilizing work instructions, design models, and specifications

  • Clarifies work instructions to Operations and crafts modifications as needed

  • Documents issues and disseminates information to core manufacturing engineering for incorporation into future releases

  • Resolves issues by collaborating with other resource groups as needed

  • Gets involved in MRB repairs and special processes to assist Operations as needed

  • Performs PFMEA and RCCA investigations

  • Creates and maintains MBOMs

This role may be filled at the Engineer or Principal Engineer level based on the Qualifications below. Travel is minimal if at all.

Basic Qualifications

Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant manufacturing work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Prior exposure to Aerospace manufacturing

  • Ability to acquire a DoD Secret clearance

  • Ability to acquire a special program access clearance

Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant manufacturing work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Prior exposure to Aerospace manufacturing

  • Ability to acquire a DoD Secret clearance

  • Ability to acquire a special program access clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or design engineering

  • Work instruction planning experience

  • Liaison / Floor production engineering experience

  • Experience with composite layup and curing processes

  • Experience with aircraft assembly of composite, aluminum, and titanium components

  • Experience with wiring and hydraulic installation

  • GD&D experience in aircraft manufacturing

  • Experience with formal root cause and corrective action processes (PFMEA, Fault Tree, etc.)

  • Fluent with PDM, MRP, and EWI business systems

  • Proficiency with NX11 or higher

  • Preference will be given to individuals already accessed to Special Access Programs

Salary Range: $64,600.00 - $97,000.00Salary Range 2: $79,700.00 - $119,500.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
