Caterpillar, Inc. Finance Site Deployment Lead in Clayton, North Carolina
The Finance Site Deployment Lead will provide expertise on complex business, financial or managerial issues related to the deployment of Mach 1 at Building and Construction Products Division’s (BCP) facilities. Additionally, this position will/must:
Have the ability to analyze and understand impact and have a broader perspective on specific accounting issues. This requires a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business accounting issues and full support of BCP’s leadership team.
Act as a teacher on accounting issues to facility accounting teams as well as non-accountants
Resolve issues independently
Lead and/or direct teams within or outside of discipline addressing complex problems
Take full responsibility for outcomes
Primary Responsibilities of the BCP Finance Site Deployment Lead are:
Provide site business expertise and a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures
Provide site user support (power user) and deep expertise of the new financial systems to address deployment issues that may arise in the Mach 1 deployment and other related applications.
Analyze deployment issues and identify the impact on financial reporting
Participate in problem resolution process involving site and service provider (GIS/PMO/Financial Systems) team interaction
Support testing of functionality associated with site accounting processes
Provide and maintain accurate user documentation and training as well as detailed process/transaction flows for those processes unique to the facility (standard Mach 1 documentation is available)
Monitor deployment schedule, cutover plan, testing defects, business requirement gap resolution; notify users of announcements, issues, or concerns; escalate issues or concerns with PMO and leadership.
Provide ongoing support to promptly address program readiness and manage defects.
Coordinate, participate and occasionally lead small cross-functional teams, with participation from finance (Financial Systems & Facility accountants) and non-finance professionals to ensure location needs are being met with the systems
Identification of legal & regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, associated with site specific system enhancements.
Coordinate with Financial Systems to develop detailed process flows, data mapping and transformation logic of interfaces for any new functionality.
Position requires a 4-year degree, preferably in accounting
6-8 years of progressively responsible job-related experience
TOP CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE:
Knowledge of BCP and related processes
Experience leading complex projects including process simplification/automation
CPA and/or CMA Certification
