Robert Half Talent Solutions has a job opening for a Compensation and Classification Manager for six-plus months. The Compensation and Classification Manager is a specialized role that focuses on designing, implementing, and managing salary, pay, and job classification structures within the government agency. This role also entails managing the agency's reward and recognition program. The successful candidate will work to ensure that our compensation and classification programs support our strategic objectives and meet all legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the agency’s compensation structure, including salary, benefits, and bonuses.

  • Design and manage the job classification system, ensuring it aligns with agency needs and is competitively positioned against market benchmarks.

  • Conducted compensation analyses and prepared reports for management.

  • Collect data on job roles and responsibilities to develop accurate job descriptions and classification levels.

  • Could you ensure that compensation and classification programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations?

  • Analyze compensation policies about government regulations and prevailing rates for similar jobs in other organizations.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and agency management to strategically plan and recommend compensation and classification initiatives.

  • Develop and manage a rewards and recognition program that motivates and encourages employee performance.

  • Conduct job evaluations and salary audits to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.

  • Please handle all related questions from employees and leaders about pay and job classification.

This position requires high confidentiality and discretion, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a fair and equitable work environment. The Compensation and Classification Manager will guide the agency toward achieving its strategic goals by developing a comprehensive and competitive compensation and classification system.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compensation and Benefits, Human Resources or relevant field, preferably within a government agency.

  • Experience with job classification, compensation analysis, and policy design.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
