Jostens, the leader in Yearbook & Commercial Printing, is looking for an experienced Quality Control Engineer, who will be responsible for directing and coordinating Quality Control department operations & for overseeing a team specializing in the inspection of production materials for accuracy, reproduction quality, and consistency. This engineer manages the department schedule, quality control initiatives, training, and allocation of materials and resources. They coordinate production and performance goals, organize work, and maintain a productive and motivational climate, while meeting plant objectives for quality, quantity, cost, and delivery. This position also facilitates planning and development of quality control systems for products or processes and ensures that they are being designed, manufactured, and produced in accordance with customer specifications and quality requirements. They monitor, analyze, investigate, and troubleshoot product or production issues, developing corrective actions, solutions and improvements while implementing quality standards. Incumbent could be asked to work and assist in different department areas across the Plant, to provide support, learn and train as needed by department manager. They will support and partner with other supervisors and managers, as well as continuous improvement engineers to drive process improvement and safety goals in all quality areas. Qualifications Required:
BA degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, and/or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of experience in Quality Control, Manufacturing, Process Management/Engineering.
Management/Supervisory experience in a team-based environment.
Experience in process and product development.
Excellent computer skills in Excel & Quality Assurance Software.
Strong leadership skills and demonstrated success in managing a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Has served as an effective role model, either internally or externally.
Cross-functional communication experience.
Results oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certification
Experience in “made to order” business/manufacturing.
Printing experience (Yearbook and/or Commercial).
Good experience using 5S methodologies, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
