We are actively searching for anEquipment Procurement (Purchasing) Managerfor LG Chems new plant construction site in Tennessee. TheProcurement (Purchasing) Manageris responsible forplanning and implementing the sourcing and purchasing strategies to acquire Equipment supplier or Sub Contractors for the expansion projects.This includes creating proposals for bidding and negotiating formal contracts. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in all Federal and State rules and regulations in order to adhere with regulatory compliance.This position will be based in Clarksville, TN.

Responsibilities(include but are not limited to):

  • This is an individual contributor role where the Purchasing Manager will establish and maintain all new relationships as well as write the project requirements to lead the proposal process.

  • Plan Procurement Strategies to secure price competitiveness.

  • Create and maintain Procurement process.

  • Review Invitation To Bid (ITB, written by technical department) and add to needs for Purchasing Department.

  • Host on-site presentation explaining site conditions and scope of works to contractors

  • Create Commercial Bid Evaluation(CBE) with detailed price analysis.

  • Capture and analyze all proposals to prepare cost models for each project and prepare written reports for senior leaders.

  • Bidding or negotiating using the Ariba system.

  • Ensure all contract are based upon and meet AIA standards.

  • Maintain contracts and related files to ensure all legal requirements are documented.

  • Renew the contract if a Change Order occurs.

  • Communicate with finance team for payment.

  • Correspond and Resolve Contractors claims (with legal affairs team if necessary).

  • All business processes must comply with U.S. federal and state regulations (laws).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. MBA is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in ordering and contracting construction projects in the US.

  • 3+years of experienceleveraging strong negotiating and influencing skillswith Equipment suppliers and Sub-Contractors.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of an ERP system. (SAP experience preferred)

  • Understanding of construction activities, sequences and related licenses such as civil, architectural work, installation equipment and site requirements (safety, QA/AC and log stics)

  • Bilingual Korean is a plus
