About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Collections Specialist to join our team within the Specialty Trades Contracting industry. This fully onsite role, based in Clarkston, MI, offers contract-to-hire potential for the right individual who excels in customer service, account management, and collections processes. If you have a knack for resolving accounts and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management: Conduct daily collection calls based on aging reports and work with assigned customers who are on credit hold to ensure timely resolution.
Customer Communication: Professionally handle both inbound and outbound calls, negotiating payment plans and settlements within client-specific parameters. Promptly identify and resolve disputes to maintain customer satisfaction and account integrity.
Payment Reconciliation: Work with customers to resolve delinquent accounts by assisting with invoicing issues, addressing general inquiries, and completing account reconciliations. Use excellent communication and negotiation skills to create urgency and ensure account payment.
Follow-Up: Perform regular follow-ups to confirm promised payments have been received. Maintain up-to-date customer status notes in the system and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions to release orders from credit holds.
Account Adjustments: Review credit/debit memos and rebill requests for accuracy before forwarding them to customers to ensure proper documentation and account adjustments.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in Collections.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a positive attitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
Team Environment: Comfortable working collaboratively and contributing to a team-oriented workplace.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, with a solid working knowledge of MS Excel.
