THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Clarks Summit State Hospital is looking for an adaptable Cook 1 to join our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a critical position within Clarks Summit State Hospital. As a Cook 1, you will produce nutritious meals to meet the needs of our patients. You will work with other dietary services staff as well as use standardized recipes and preplanned work assignments. Not only will you prepare food, but you will ensure it is served to meet each patient's unique needs. Quality is paramount for success in this position and you will also ensure all sanitization requirements are met.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have every other weekend off and work overtime as operationally necessary. Your work schedule is subject to change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

*Desirable Preparation for Work:*

  • Experience in cooking or quantity food preparation; *or *
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

    1. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
