As a Director on our Fragrance Development Team, you will be responsible for the strategic work and implementation of the Fragrance Development Roadmap in the US for our Haircare products.

As a Director in the Fragrance Development team, your main responsibilities are:

  • Strategically works on and supports the implementation of the Fragrance Development Roadmap in the US.

  • Guarantees the creation and deployment of a robust pipeline of creative fragrances for hair care, with quality, safety and performance.

  • Develop winning fragrances for the US with global appeal.

  • Ensure collaboration and best practices sharing across Fragrance Development teams in US and worldwide (France, Brazil, China, Japan, India, South Africa):

  • Support competitive knowledge and transfer between teams

  • To maximize/leverage consumer tested fragrances

  • To enhance cross-country fragrance exchange opportunities.

  • Builds and maintains strong collaboration relationships with cross-functional teams based in the US and abroad (Laboratories, Marketing, Procurement etc.).

  • Promotes a strong partnership with Fragrance Houses to leverage their expertise according to each product category and/or brand, to transform trends in olfactive creations and design winning olfactive themes.

  • Manages Fragrance Development lab operations by optimizing resources, anticipating product/brand requirements, defining and respecting launch timelines, coordinating activities with support departments in US and abroad; issuing updates on any risks and ensuring fragrance availability in line with commitments.

    To Succeed In This Position, You Have:

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree is required. Degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience in haircare fragrance evaluation is required.

  • Experience in a fragrance house is highly preferred, in a region with a focus on Curly-Hair consumers.

  • Experience in fragrance evaluation of a diversity of hair types, including those with curls is preferred.

  • Advanced Knowledge of technical and regulatory matters and issues related to the Fragrance category preferred

  • Strong skills with Consumer Data Analysis in haircare preferred

  • Strong competitive insights; recognize market trends preferred

  • Experience in developing & coordinating presentations (PowerPoint and/or other) to support fragrance strategy, insights and consumer tests preferred

  • Possesses drive, goal orientation, and an entrepreneurial outlook – with positive attitude

  • The ability to work in international, multi-disciplinary environment on a daily basis.

  • Strong project management skills including retro planning in order to meet future deadlines. Proactively anticipated problems that may arise and planned in advance.

  • Detected and forecasted future olfactive and product trends with the ability to prepare and present findings.

  • Created olfactive market reviews with strong olfactive acumen on the category and key market brands, including competitors.

  • A Self-starter disposition with the ability to work independently and pro-actively develop reviews.

  • The ability to work cohesively in a team.

  • The ability to make independent decisions, aligned with management.

  • The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)

  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
