Prysmian Group Shift Process Engineering Technician in Claremont, North Carolina

Position: Process Engineering Technician – Night Shift

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Position Description:

  • First responder to all process defects and failures – helps operator place accurate information into the QN

  • Respond to process priorities as directed by on shift leadership

  • Utilize troubleshooting guides for defect investigations

  • Maintain accurate QN database with all required information

  • Provide input to Process Engineer for defect elimination

  • Record all process changes in the Change Log as required by TL9000

  • Provide instruction and training on process changes as required

  • Assist Process Engineering in maintaining production tooling inventories

  • Support process trials and projects as required

  • Assist shift Maintenance TSA’s as required.

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management

Education:

Required: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent technical work experience

Preferred: Six-Sigma Green Belt

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of five years in an optical fiber / cable manufacturing facility or equivalent

  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a technician role.

  • Proficiency in at least two optical cable manufacturing processes

Process Engineering Technician

  • Able to learn new technical skills quickly

  • Results oriented and careful about documentation of work

  • Ability to prioritize and maintain focus in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment

  • Ability to communicate process issues to technical and operations personnel

  • Willing to work overtime and flexible hours, including holidays to cover vacations or support emergencies and planned maintenance activities
