Prysmian Group Facilities Engineer in Claremont, North Carolina

Position Description:

  • Candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department. The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipment

  • Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities management

  • Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad

  • Work with the technical staff to resolve daily issues

  • Support the commissioning of new equipment for production

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management

Education Required:

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience

  • Minimum three years experience

Experience Required:

  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

Preferred:

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing a plus

  • Experience with Chiller maintenance and optimization

  • Experience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber etc…)

  • Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimization

  • Experience with high purity piping and gas delivery systems

  • Experience with fire detection equipment

  • Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems

Skills/Attributes:

  • Strong data analysis skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of Basic Statistical Tools

  • Detail and quality orientated

  • Motivated Team Player

  • Ability to work with little supervision
