We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in the waste, refuse, and environmental waste management industry in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves performing a variety of accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the improvement of our accounting procedures.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
Perform variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for significant variances
Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits
Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities
Support cash flow management and treasury functions
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Work Environment:
This position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, with 2 days per week required in the office. The office is conveniently located and offers free parking for all employees.

Requirements
• Prior experience of 2+ years in a Senior Accountant role
• Proven proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.
• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use advanced functions.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures and processes.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
