Job Overview Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 100,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home. HBC is located within the College of Medicine and is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States. The University of Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), Division of Medical Services is recruiting for a full-time, Quality Assurance Specialist, to manage, audit, develop, modify, and present services and programs. The intended candidate will communicate with blood donors concerning donor deferral or donor quality investigations and outside physician offices. The QA Specialist will work closely with data analytics to improve quality data collection and work within Medical Services to assist with process improvement initiatives, and to perform other tasks as needed. Essential Functions Perform audits, create checklists, analyze data, report audit results and verify all changes are complete to ensure compliance with SOPs, accrediting agencies and state, local, and federal regulations. Manage equipment calibration schedules and maintenance. Assist with the development of staff training. Assist in the planning, development and implementation of new programs. Maintain, write and edit SOPs and train SOP writers and master list manager Assist with the annual reports to senior management. Act as liaison to internal departments and external entities. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Three (3) years of experience working in a clinical laboratory or FDA regulated environment. Additional Qualifications Considered At least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Blood collection center experience is ideal. LPN/RN is ideal.
