Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The UC College of MSTP (Medical Scientist Training Program) is recruiting a full-time Program Manager. MSTP's mission is to recruit, mentor, and educate a diverse group of physician scientists who will become leaders in their chosen careers that integrate clinical medicine and research to advance clinically relevant science and improve health throughout the world.To support the continued growth of the program, the program is adding a new administrative staff position to join the program leadership team. In this role, the program manager will be responsible for reviewing applicants and organizing recruitment and onboarding efforts for the program. The program manager will also be responsible for generating data insights to guide program decision-making. Specific responsibilities include scheduling meetings, organizing interview logistics, developing program recruitment materials, engaging with prospective applicants, developing student outcomes tracking system, engaging with staff and leadership to implement new program initiatives, and working collaboratively with other MSTP staff members to support the program. Essential Functions Review applicants and organize recruitment & onboarding efforts for the program. Generate data insights to guide program decision-making. Manage, design, develop, modify, and present programs.Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations. Work collaboratively with staff & leadership to support the program and its students. Implement policies and procedures. Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve, and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports. Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree required. Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Three (3) years of program management and/orrelevant experience. Additional Qualifications Considered Master's degree idealor equivalent experience.
