ENSAFE INC Environmental Scientist of Natural Resources in Cincinnati, Ohio

What We Are Looking For: An Environmental Scientist who excels both independently and within teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in crafting Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase I's, and making significant contributions to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reports. What You Will Be Doing: Independently conduct hydrologic determinations and wetland delineations in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for hydrologic determinations and wetland delineations and assessments, including maps, field notes, and findings. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients on matters related to hydrology, wetlands, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and regulatory requirements are satisfied. Conduct stream functional assessments using Rosgen or Stream Quantification Tool methods. Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis as needed to support project goals. Prepare and submit permit applications, including Section 404/401 permit applications under the Clean Water Act and applicable state regulations. Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and prepare reports in accordance with ASTM E2247-16, ASTM E1527-13, and ASTM E1527-21 standards. Initial coordination, special studies, draft, and final NEPA documents Manage the public review process and draft project closure documentation (FONSI/FONPA). Overnight travel, 10-15% Balanced field/office work. What You Will Need: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, hydrology, or a related field, master's degree a plus. +5 years of experience conducting hydrologic determinations and wetland delineations, preferably in a consulting environment. Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to wetlands, including the Clean Water Act and Section 404/401 permitting. Proficiency in GIS software and other relevant technical tools for data analysis and mapping. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences. Experience and training in Rosgen or SQT stream functional assessment methods. TN Qualified Hydrologic Professional (QHP) and/or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification preferred, or interest in pursuing these certifications (PWS-IT or QHP-IT). Willingness to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed.
