ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, manage, and hold the software team accountable

  • Interview and recommend staffing/hiring needs

  • Monitor and implement new software release, versions, updates, licenses, and patches

  • Recommend software tools for design team

  • Attend project turnover meetings with the sales and project team.

  • Coordination and turnover with Hardware Manager

  • Assign projects to software engineers

  • Manage software schedule and project requirements

  • Recommend training for software team

  • Evaluate and perform annual reviews software engineers

  • Generate Eikon/SiteBuilder programming as required

  • Review software/databases for energy savings, operation, consistency, labeling, operation

  • Define and implement software programming and database standards

  • Set IP/addressing and naming standards

  • Provide programming support to field technicians and specialists

  • Coordinate PID tuning with field technicians

  • Coordinate third-party integration with field technicians

  • Coordination and Turnover with Graphics Manager

  • Provide programs/database to graphics team

  • Identify any gaps or ambiguity in the project and submit RFIs as required

  • Work with design engineers to develop written sequence of operations to run DDC equipment

  • Mentor new employees and assist in their growth

  • Train facility owners/operators

  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers

  • Ensure all software is backed up and loaded in Procore

  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Project Managers with recommendation for resolution

  • Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established

  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in related engineering/technology field required, bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering preferred.

  • In lieu of engineering/technical degree, a combination of verifiable DDC specific training and two or more years of experience will be considered.

  • DDC or PLC design experience preferred.

  • DDC or PLC programming experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial electrical, HVAC, and control theory.

  • Familiarity with third party equipment integration over protocols such as BACnet/Modbus.

  • Experience in engineering, design, or maintenance of HVAC systems.

  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.)

  • Familiarity with coding/programming and other electrical, technical, or construction programs.

  • Familiarity with building architecture and computer networks.

  • Programming experience is required, graphical block programming experience is a plus.
