Actalent Construction Materials Technician in Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description
We're actively seeking a dedicated Construction Materials Technician to provide support for various construction projects around the Cincinnati area. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting tests and inspections on a variety of building materials, including concrete, soil, steel, aggregates and more, to ensure they comply with project specifications and codes. Your role is critical in maintaining our commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This role does not require prior experience as training will be provided. However, adaptability to a variable work schedule and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are necessary.
Hard Skills
Ability to perform testing and inspection of construction activities, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel
Ability to review project drawings and specifications
Capability to report test results and time sheet to the Project Manager in a timely fashion
Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Soft Skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt to variable work schedules
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Work Environment
This role involves working 100% in the field on various construction job sites. It offers a dynamic and hands-on work environment, where no two days are the same. While experience and certifications such as NICET, ACI Field, ODOT, NETTCP and/or ICC are preferred, they are not required as training will be provided for the right candidate.
