Wells Fargo M&A Investment Banking Associate in CHIYODA-KU, Japan
About this role:
The role involves performing the tasks of an M&A Program Associate or Program Analyst within the existing international M&A team, including working on client coverage materials, conducting industry research and screening, transaction origination and execution of M&A mandates.
In this role, you will:
Work to support the business strategy and relevant teams to expand Wells Fargo’s M&A activities in the region
Supporting senior bankers in their relationship management responsibilities, including interaction with current and prospective clients
Preparing marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda and management presentations
Keep abreast of key market developments and establishing knowledge of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
Coordinate closely with internal and external resources to help arrange client meetings for U.S. bankers in Japan
Performing financial analysis, including comparable transactions and public company analysis
Creating detailed financial models used for valuation purposes
Conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction
Using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to present various pieces of analysis
Managing transaction logistics, including organising data rooms and working group lists
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
Fluency in both spoken and written Japanese and English
Desired Qualifications:
Exposure to the full spectrum of a M&A transaction life cycle including origination and execution experience
Prior experience at an international bank platform and/or a leading Japanese securities firm; past experience working with U.S.-based investment banks is a plus
Sound analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to take on significant responsibility
High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and a broad intellectual capacity
Comfortable functioning both independently and as part of a team, meeting stringent deadlines and work quality standards
Prior experience working in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, team environment that required extended work hours from time to time.
Team player that behaves ethically and with integrity
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Currently licensed as Class 1 Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA)
