Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a manufacturing client of his to find their next Plant Controller. This role has solid benefits, a really good bonus and a 401k match. The Plant Controller role focuses on the management of accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of the plant's financial performance. As a Plant Controller, you will work closely with plant management to enhance cost efficiency, improve operational performance, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation, analysis, and reporting of the plant's budget, forecasts, and financial metrics.

• Conduct a thorough analysis of key cost drivers, variances, and trends to provide actionable insights to the management.

• Implement and maintain cost accounting systems that align with our business objectives.

• Verify the accuracy and timeliness of inventory, production costs, and financial data reporting.

• Carry out cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making for capital investments, cost-reduction initiatives, and process improvements.

• Manage plant accounting operations in adherence to corporate policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Facilitate month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.

• Implement robust internal controls, conduct internal audits, and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.

• Act as a financial advisor to plant leadership, fostering alignment between financial goals and operational strategies.

• Develop and train the plant’s finance team, ensuring a high level of competence and professionalism.

• Collaborate with corporate finance and other departments to align plant objectives with organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent communication skills
