Product Development Engineer - MA Chicopee, MA Description The TSUBAKI name is synonymous with excellence in quality, dependability and customer service. U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC is an international tier-one supplier of high-speed chain drive systems to the automotive industry. The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for accelerating the development and time-to-market of Tsubaki mobility products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed. Research, design, and develop products for Tsubaki\'s family of automotive and mobility products. This includes selectable clutches, driveline disconnects, park lock devices, chain actuators, and other chain drive solutions. Design for Manufacturing: Optimize component designs, identify manufacturing methods, material specifications, and manufacturing tolerances. Create Design Validation Plans, Gantt Charts, DFMEAs, and lead Design Reviews (internal and supply chain). Coordinate engineering drawing approvals and releases, update and release Bill of Materials, and support drawing implementation with cross-functional team. Communicate applicable engineering specifications to team. Support product and documentation refinement from the concept stage to mass production. Coordinate with cross-functional APQP team on product/project launches. Support APQP objectives with cross-functional team activities such as: Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and PFMEAs. Continue application of Tsubaki Chain technologies to of the Automotive and Mobility industries. Support Sales and New Product Groups on new business opportunities and VA/VE ideas. Provide technical support to other departments. Requirements Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Familiarity with automotive engines/transmissions, knowledge of AIAG standards and practices, and enthusiasm for the automotive industry preferred. CAD skills required. NX, CATIA, Solidworks preferred. Familiarity with analysis and simulation software preferred. Ability to learn complex testing and instrumentation required. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work required. Excellent time management skills required. Broadband knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred (stamping, forging, sintering, injection molding, machining, heat treatment, etc.) Ability to think critically and creatively in high stress situations. Willingness & ability to travel as necessary.
