VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Assistant in Chicago, Illinois
VCA Ark Animal Hospital looking to add a Veterinary Assistant to our team!
VCA Ark has been part of the Avondale, Chicago community since 2003. We are an expanding 4-doctor practice. Our hospital has been AAHA certified since 2007 and practices low-stress and fear-free techniques. We offer routine services from wellness care to surgical and dental procedures. We also offer more advanced procedures such as an on-call surgeon for orthopedics and cold laser therapy.
VCA Ark has a recently renovated facility and state-of-the-art equipment including ultrasound, digital x-ray, and brand new lab equipment. We have digital radiography and a surgical laser; as well as up-to-date technology for easy patient check-ins.
We have a large back yard for lunches and staff meetings, and a fully equipped staff break room. The hospital is located in a quiet neighborhood, has quick access to public transportation (Blue line, I-90, and train station), and is within walking distance of several popular restaurants and breweries.
Job Snapshot:
We want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:
Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff
Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients
Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked
Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
Keep accurate records and logs
Sterilize equipment
Observing patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reporting any findings to senior staff
Assist CVTs and DVMs with patients
Schedule: Full-tim with flexible scheduling
