Wight & Company is currently in search of a Sustainability and Decarbonization Analyst with a strong professional drive, great passion, and self-direction, to join our collaborative and engaging practice in the Chicago or Darien office location.

Your role will be involved in all project types including corporate, PK-12 Schools, Governmental and multifamily residential projects. Your role will be to champion building decarbonization efforts, including embodied carbon reductions, across disciplines, perform LCA analyses, and research and promote responsible material use on projects (healthy materials, low carbon, circular economy, etc.). You will also support all types of sustainable efforts including, but not limited to documentation and certification administration for Net Zero, LEED, WELL Building Standard, Zero Carbon and Zero Energy projects.

This role requires the ability to work independently, with the sustainability team as well as integrated team participation and support in the larger organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Run LCAs on projects at various stages and make recommendations to the team
  • Track and document Healthy Materials for various certifications
  • Participate and represent Wight and Company in industry initiatives including the Carbon Leadership Forum
  • Research appropriate materials selections
  • Compile data and performance information in presentation form
  • Collaborate across disciplines and departments to assist in well-coordinated projects
  • Track and document LEED, WELL, and other building certifications as needed

Qualifications:

  • Passion for sustainability
  • Up to 5 Years Experience in sustainability
  • Knowledge of LCA programs (Tally, TallyCat, EPIC, EC3, or others)
  • Knowledge of Healthy Materials Mindful Materials, HPD, EPD and tracking
  • Bachelors or masters degree in Architecture, Interior design, Engineering, or similar
  • Experience working on Institutional, K-12 Schools and Governmental buildings is a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Capable of handling multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work well independently and collaborate with a team
