The opportunity:

Flexport IT is looking for a Staff Systems engineer with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer. In this role, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and administering IAM solutions to ensure the secure and efficient management of user identities and access privileges. The candidate will have broad knowledge across IT services with in-depth hands on working knowledge in supporting one or more of the following additional services: Google Workspace, Slack, MS O365, Jira and Confluence, user endpoint device deployment and management (Jamf and MS InTune).

Your expertise will be critical in automating workflows, protecting sensitive systems and data, mitigating security risks, and maintaining compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy IAM strategies, lead IT engineering projects, and provide technical leadership.

You will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the end to end lifecycle of Identity and Access management.

  • Drive solutions and project work.

  • Administer IAM technologies and platforms including Okta, directory services, MFA, password management.

  • Administer a range of SaaS applications including Google Workspace, O365, Slack, Jira/Confluence.

  • Administer fleet of Mac and Windows devices using Jamf and InTune.

  • Automate workflows around provisioning, deprovisioning, and application access.

  • Establish and maintain identity governance processes, including role-based access control (RBAC), entitlement reviews, and access certification.

  • Onboard new applications for single sign-on.

  • Develop and maintain technical operating procedures, policies, and engineering roadmaps.

  • Work closely with the Security team to ensure the platform is designed and implemented with security best practices.

  • Mentor junior staff members.

  • Provide operations support.

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or comparable experience).

  • 7+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems engineering and broad management of various IT services.

  • In-depth knowledge of IAM concepts and protocols, such as IGA, RBAC, MFA, LDAP, SAML, SCIM, OAuth.

  • Strong hands-on experience with IAM tools and platforms, such as Okta and directory services.

  • Scripting and automation experience

  • Working knowledge of SaaS / collaboration tools: Google Workspace, Slack, Jira/Confluence, O365

  • Experienced in managing Mac and Windows devices with Jamf and InTune.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.

The US base salary range for this position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)

$120,240—$178,067 USD
