About the Role

The Sr. Brand Manager, Ritual sits within our new Non-Alcoholic Beverages unit that leads end-to-end marketing, commercial and business management working closely and using our wider Diageo resources. The connectivity of this team empowers the focus & resilience needed to accelerate growth in this dynamic category!

The Sr. Brand Manager for Ritual reports to the Head of Marketing for DNAB (Diageo Non-Alcoholic Beverages) and will lead the brand’s marketing strategy execution to drive growth, brand education and awareness, and equity. This role will oversee all aspects of the end to end marketing for Ritual while collaborating with peers across Digital Marketing, Creative, Trade Marketing and Events & Sponsorships to ensure cohesive brand messaging across all marketing channels. This role has one direct report–Marketing Associate, Ritual.

We are seeking a highly creative, entrepreneurial & resourceful self-starter who can drive immediate impact. The individual needs to be comfortable being both a self-directed contributor, and a team leader to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. This person will be responsible for influencing multiple internal and external partners. Strong strategic thought leadership and communication skills will be critical to success. The leader of Ritual needs to act as a true end to end owner of the brand with the passion and drive to deliver growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position is accountable for the development and implementation of long-term brand strategy and annual marketing business plans in support of growth and volume objectives for Ritual.

  • Lead, develop and implement a fully through-line marketing plan (commercial, media strategy, PR, influencer, events, etc.) with cross-functional partners.

  • Manage Advertising and Promotion budgets and make strategic recommendations on spend + signals risk.

  • Leverage insights to develop overarching recruitment strategy for the brand that creates in-roads with the next generation and grows Ritual in On, Off, DtC and Non – Traditional channels.

  • Lead brand team with accountability for team output, workflow management and mentoring. Collaborate with peer D2C team to drive high impact for e-comm.

  • Be a key partner to the commercial side of the business. Be performance obsessed. Collaborate with relevant sales teams in key markets (internal + distributor) to create a growth plan that will drive incremental volume on the brand.

  • Partner with CP&A lead to ensure brand consistency in On and Off premise.

  • Lead development and execution of coordinated brand platform and in-culture agenda – leading cross functional & agency teams to deliver outstanding communications plans across growth drivers.

  • Live in culture and understand how to connect the brand in culture.

  • Be proud and passionate advocate for Ritual internally.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, MBA a plus

  • 8+ years of marketing experience in CPG, spirits or lifestyle brands a plus

  • Demonstrated capability to be nimble, resourceful and entrepreneurial to create out of the box ideas that can drive disproportionate impact.

  • Ability to champion brand and initiatives, galvanizing internal partners to support and implement plans. Experience working with multi-disciplinarian teams – marketing, commercial, agency, leading with inspiration and clarity.

  • Excellent cross-functional partner management internally to DNAB’s field sales and activation teams.

  • Demonstrate ability to develop both long term strategy and annual plans with insight, commercial rigor, creativity, and be able to implement with excellence.

  • Strong curiosity for understanding how to behave and appeal to consumers. Ability to synthesize these observations into powerful insights and growth driving strategy.

  • Ability to analyze data and specific market information to simplify complex issues and recommend business action. Effective problem solving and decision-making capability.

  • Ability to maintain positive outlook amidst challenges and effectively problem-solve and make decisions.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize and drive to action.

  • Deep understanding of how to connect brands in culture.

  • Strong performance / P&L accountability with total business ownership demeanor.
