We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Senior Health Equity Program Manager on our Center for Health Equity team. As a Senior Health Equity Program Manager you will manage a portfolio programs and initiatives to create equitable health systems and advance a national strategy for patient quality, safety, and equity, that merges operations, quality improvement and equity efforts. You will also coordinate effective action across sectors to promote social justice and equity in health. As a Senior Health Equity Program Manager you will be responsible for developing a pipeline of healthcare leaders equipped with anti-racist, structural justice praxis capable of advancing health equity for patients, families, staff, communities, and populations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Development and Management

  • Drive and facilitate the design and implementation of a portfolio of large-scale national learning communities, including defining aims, setting goals, tracking/reporting on progress, and developing and implementing evaluation and dissemination strategies

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within CHE on quality, safety, and equity

  • Drive and monitor workplans across multiple complex workstreams to ensure all milestones are met on time, to budget, and to expectations; and proactively communicate concerns and risks to Director, team, and management as appropriate

  • Collaborate with CHE colleagues and HSI team to develop and manage project budgets

  • Facilitate internal and external program meetings; including webinars, in-person meetings, and internal and external calls

  • Support the Equitable Health Systems team in the strategic planning process

  • Oversees knowledge management systems, such as standard scans of relevant topics (e.g., quality metrics, national trends in quality, safety, and equity)

Content and Curriculum Development

  • Drive the development of content, tools, and resources for programs

  • Lead and complete the background research / literature scan on specific topics, synthesize findings, and produce a usable summary

  • Write and edit internal and external reports, publications, and other program materials

  • Present at internaland external meetings and conferences

Relationship Management

  • Engage and manage strategic relationships, including with partners, funders, stakeholders, speakers/facilitators, and consultants

  • Partner with Center for Health Equity colleagues, collaborating Business Units, including Office of General Counsel, and Finance to move opportunities from scoping through contracting and budgeting to launch

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in healthcare management, public policy, public health, or related fields or equivalent applicable work experience

  2. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project management and health equity; experience in healthcare quality and safety, and/or continuous quality improvement preferred

  3. Understanding of racial equity and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, strategies, and models required

  4. Demonstrated experience with operational planning, implementation and evaluation of multiple, complex projects including, convening project teams, organizing multi-faceted project plans, managing towards established timelines and project deliverables

  5. Demonstrated analytical and data-driven approach to issues; able to measure the impact of collaborative programs

  6. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from different disciplines, contributing as a team member, as well as being self-motivated and a strong individual contributor

  7. Ability to conduct literature searches and strong writing skills required to produce summaries in written format

  8. Experience implementing large-scale national learning communities preferred

  9. Strong facilitation, presentation and public speaking skills required, including experience presenting in a large group setting

  10. Some travel required for meetings, conferences, and events
