You will lead the production operations in the Plant and delivering key performance targets (SQCDSM) in safety, quality, productivity, volumes, cost, sustainability, organizational morale. You will ensure our manufacturing strategy is implemented and is fully effective and you will strive to build a high performing organization.
How you will contribute
You will:
Manages change/ transformation change/ transformation amongst the Operating teams in the implementation of IL6S-Integrated Lean 6 sigma phase journey, FoF-Factory of Future Line centric organization & roles (AM-Autonomous Maintenance, PM-Progressive Maintenance and an integrated 6 star model within operating Line teams) to progress into Self sufficient teams. Role models Values and principles through effective coaching, mentoring and development of the team.
Support the Manufacturing annual operational plans and targets to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability, Engagement goals in line with the site Compelling business need. coach Line Leaders, cascade & communicate the plans and targets to employees to ensure alignment and understanding around priorities, focus and KPI’s.
Lead and be Accountable to establish a strong Governance to Review, Control Operational performance and Continuous Improvement plan and embed a zero loss mindset to constantly improve and deliver against best in class both internally and externally. Drive the Operating team to identify and manage improvements to technology, culture, capability and operating systems to deliver a best practice and reliable operation.
Support all Manufacturing standards, Governance, Compliance requirements (e.g. Corporate Quality, Food safety & GMP, Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Sustainability, Code of conduct, Policies & principles, Operational standards, Local legal requirements, Internal Audit norms, & other procedures updated from time to time) are in place, understood by all, and is regularly reviewed and monitored for effective implementation.
Lead and be Accountable for Talent, Capabilities & Engagement for the Manufacturing team - identify and implement critical levers to attract, retain & develop critical talent and builds capability at all levels, technical and behavioral, to build a sustainable workforce profile for the future. Partner effectively with all multi-functional peers internally & externally (outside the plant) to achieve objectives, goals and KPI’s.

Strong operational & manufacturing leadership experience in CPG industry with experience in TPM-Total productive maintenance, 5s, LEAN, 6 sigma tools and concepts

An Engineer with a strong financial & business acumen, project management skills and Knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.

While taking ownership in your area of work, you’ll also ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues while producing our top-quality products reliably and efficiently within our integrated supply chain.
Job Functions
Overall responsibility will be to work with each of the multidisciplinary teams to lead, coordinate the digital transformation initiatives, automation upgrade and process visualization systems. Work with different departments to ensure all the new implementations follow the global standards. Coordinate and plan electrical activities, training, and trouble-shooting electrical issues, including PLC or networks related.
Utilize and improve current technology to provide continuous improvement to all maintenance and operation’s effectiveness using digital tools. Provide strong leadership, support, planning, direction and supervision to assigned hourly electrical team members. Program responsibility to include planning preventative/predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment overhauls and upgrades as it pertains to the plant electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Transformation
Digital advisor to help to identify projects for continuous improvement, waste reduction and performance improvement using digital tools
Multidisciplinary work to define and improve real time visibility across departments
Technical lead.
Assess technical capabilities and definition of training roadmap for electrical team
Develop PLC (Allen-Bradly), Beckhoff and DCS (PlantPAX) technical knowledge to be extended to the maintenance team
Develop and maintain personal technical knowledge in plant electrical and control systems
Develop disaster recovery plan for critical equipment
Provide technical support for maintenance team during assigned shift and on call support off shifts as required.
Coordinate with other departments to identify improvements.
Electrical Site Owner
Electrical site owner responsible to work with corporate team in all the electrical projects
Manage and maintain updated electrical and control documentation and resources
Coordinate with the site Safety Manager on electrical matters related to safety, power distribution, energy conservation, legal compliance, complaints, etc.
Complies with all current Federal, State, and Local government safety, health, and environmental regulations.
IL6S
Develop preventive maintenance schedules for electrical distribution system, control equipment and instrumentation using CMMS
Develop & implement maintenance and inspection plans to ensure reliability, sustainability and security of electrical distribution infrastructure using CMMS
Supports and promotes future efforts to effectively introduce and implement maintenance redesign initiatives to extend equipment life and reliability
Governance
Work with engineering department in all the lifecycle of a capital project to ensure a successful implementation and transfer knowledge
Work with engineering department to align future projects identifying potential productivity improvements
Ensures new projects are aligned with global standards
Ensures compliance to governmental regulatory OSHA and safety programs and processes.
Ensure safe installations and operations thorough proper design, protection systems, procedures & training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechatronic / Electronic)
Experience on Food industry.
Experience working with unions
Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
Proficient analyzing problems base on data
Proficient troubleshooting skills
Proficiency in working:
PLC’s Allen-Bradley all families
VFDs Allen-Bradley
HMI’s Allen-Bradley
Industrial communication networks; Ethernet, DH+, RIO & ControlNet
Understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) PlantPAX and server/client system
Experience with industrial power & control circuits
Experience with industrial instrumentation
Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and function effectively in a highly demanding environment.
Ability to interact effectively with outside vendors, production operators, team leads, and the maintenance trades.
Maintenance background strongly preferred
Technical supervision experience
Electrical license is preferred
Special Requirements
Ability to work any shift and overtime if business need require.
On call for consultation during other shifts
Position is on-site 100% in the Chicago Bakery: 7300 S Kedzie Avenue, Chicago IL 60629.
The base salary range for this position is $ 117,400 - $161,42 the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
