We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
The Income Tax Senior Analyst will work on various aspects of the tax function including the consolidated federal return preparation, state/local filings, consolidated income tax provision, tax research, and audit defense. In addition to a prominent role on tax compliance matters, this individual will assist in aspects of the quarterly and year-end tax reporting function, including data collection, preparation of ASC 740 calculations, and tax research. This position will report to the Tax Manager.
Prepare fixed asset and lease tax workpapers including the fixed asset rollforward, depreciation schedules and gain/loss schedules utilizing the BNA software
Prepare fixed asset and lease tax projections for long-range plans
Collaborate with the GAAP fixed asset team to obtain data and ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Work closely with the external auditors and coordinate various data information requests
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations
Prepare federal and state/local tax returns and workpapers
Perform tax research, planning and analysis on a wide variety of federal and state matters
Assist with the Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) reporting
Prepare quarterly estimated payment calculations
Draft responses to information document requests for federal and state income tax audits

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree
Accounting, finance or equivalent
2+ years of experience in income tax with public accounting firm and/or large corporate tax department
Ability to partner in a team-oriented environment while able to work and think independently
Strong analytical skills and work ethic
Strong attention to detail
Ability to independently identify and resolve issues in order to provide accurate and consistent results
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities/deadlines working with multiple reporting lines
Proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
CPA
Experience with BNA fixed asset software
Experience with the OneSource suite of tools including provision and compliance software
Ability to work with Oracle/Hyperion tools
Experience with Alteryx
