During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2024-25 academic year the Humanities Collegiate Division may have part-time teaching opportunities in various courses of its general education sequences (Humanities Core).

Humanities Core sequences that may offer teaching opportunities in 2024-25 are the following:

Readings in World Literature I-II-III

Philosophical Perspectives I-II-III

Greece & Rome: Texts, Traditions, Transformations I-II-III

Human Being & Citizen I-II-III

Reading Cultures: Collection, Travel, Exchange I-II-III

Media Aesthetics: Image, Text, Sound I-II-III

Language and the Human I-II-III

Poetry and the Human I-II-III

A Ph.D. in a humanistic discipline is required to teach in all Humanities Core sequences. A minimum of one year of experience teaching at the university or four-year college level is required.

Responsibilities include preparing and teaching seminar-style courses, holding regularly scheduled office hours, the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials, and attendance at regularly-scheduled instructional staff meetings.

Depending on curricular needs, successful candidates may be offered between one and four classes in an academic year. In 2023-24, the minimum per-course salary was \$7,538. This position is not benefits eligible.
