Robert Half Part Time Bookkeeper (24-30 Hours Weekly) in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Part Time Bookkeeper based in Chicago, Illinois. The role encompasses the oversight of financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate accounts, ensuring legal compliance, and generating financial reports. This role falls within the industry of finance and accounting and is essential to the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all general bookkeeping duties, which includes posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.

• Manage timely payments of debts, bills, supplier and vendor invoices.

• Keep track of slow-paying invoices and take necessary action when required.

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate corporate records, documents, and reports.

• Perform monthly financial analysis to provide insights into financial health and operations.

• Oversee payroll activities in compliance with HR regulations and standards.

• Deposit and reconcile bank transactions.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and manage expense activities.

• Perform regular financial reporting to upper management.

• Continuously improve our financial processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as Quickbooks Online and Microsoft Excel to manage accounting functions and perform cash flow analysis. Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to handle accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in managing and preparing an Annual Budget

• Knowledge and experience in Cash Flow Analysis

• Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online

• Ability to work part-time for 24-30 hours weekly

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
